Shirley Fallowfield Retires after 50 Years at McTaggart, Armstrong, Dewar & Owen Anyone who has worked with Shirley, or has had the good fortune to have her assist them with their insurance needs, will believe her when she says, “More than anything I will miss helping people.” This May, after 50 years, Shirley Fallowfield will be retiring from McTaggart, Armstrong, Dewar & Owen Insurance. Shirley began her career as a clerk-typist, obtained her Insurance Broker’s License, was appointed Office Manager and in 1984, became the President and Part-Owner of McTaggart, Armstrong, Dewar & Owen. Her enthusiasm and dedication to our team and to our clients will be sorely missed, but we know that her positive energy will continue to benefit us all in our wider community. A lifetime Aylmer resident, Shirley is looking forward to dividing her time between gardening and being more involved as president of the local lawn bowling association – at least for starters. She also plans to follow up a trip to Ireland last year with new adventures in Italy, Spain and Portugal. But she intends to work up to that. Closer to home – a new home, in fact – there is a basement that needs redecorating, and landscaping and work in the garden to do. And always there is family. While we will miss the extra-attention Shirley always gave to people she came into contact with at work, it is refreshing to think of her dedicating her focus to her family, especially her two and four year old great-grandchildren. There is no way to properly thank Shirley for all she has done in over five decades of commitment to McTaggart, Armstrong, Dewar & Owen, but we will look for her around town, and we wish her all the best in her travels – and on the bowling green. Clients and friends are invited to an open house that will be held June 4, 2010, at the Royal Canadian Legion in Aylmer at 7:30pm. |

McNeil Insurance Brokers is passionately committed to giving back to our community. Recently we have donated $1000 to assist the Dutton-Dunwich Public School Band in purchasing instruments. We have also contributed $1000 to Shenanigans who assist people with disabilities find employment. |
